Staff lunch focus for February 2014: Learning & Development

Thanks to everyone who attended the Axian Staff Lunch on February 20, 2014. Our main focus was on Learning & Development – Strategy and Overview, presented by Scott Brown (Axian COO) and the Ops Team.

Axian is a strong proponent for continuous learning and development amongst our employees, to assist our Staff in growing, evolving, and diversifying both technically and professionally, and to drive relevant technical competency, marketplace competitiveness and brand awareness. Our Ops team presented some exciting upcoming opportunities for us to increase our knowledge and skills in several areas, including:

  • BI technology depth, breadth, and diversification
  • BSA/PM Process and Scrum training, certifications
  • Microsoft stack: collaboration and certification
  • Custom focus on mobile technology skill development
  • Establishment of L&D Platform foundation

We were also happy to present a service award to Jesse Spaulding, our Office Manager at Axian for the past five years. We are very grateful to Jesse for all of her hard work keeping our office running smoothly.

Additionally, we were pleased to welcome three new employees this month: David Penn, a Sr. Software Developer focused on ASP.NET, C#, and SQL Server; Travis Hoffman, a Senior Technical Lead focused on improving performance, architecture, and scalability of enterprise Java Systems and Alvin Steele, a Senior BI Developer focused on Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. We are very fortunate to have all of them join our team.
