Staff lunch focus for January 2014: Axian in 2013-2014 and Scrum Training

Thanks to everyone who attended the Axian Staff Lunch on January 16, 2014. Here’s an overview from our two presenters, Frank Helle and Cory Morgan:

Frank Helle, Axian’s CEO, updated employees on our 2013 accomplishments and 2014 challenges. “In 2013 Axian continued to grow profitable revenues and its local client base, while remaining debt-free with a strong balance sheet. Axian’s 23 year (and counting) successful track record is a tribute to our employees who deliver what the client expects to see when we’re done; delivering on client expectations for project timing, cost, and quality. ‘What does success look like on the outside?…it’s making our clients more successful than our best competitor does!’ And to accomplish this Axian will accelerate its investment in employee professional development to help make our clients successful and to provide fulfilling careers for employees.”

Cory Morgan, Solution Architect at Axian, gave us a Review of a recent Certified Scrum Product Owner Training in which Axian received certification for several of our consultants. Scrum has been a very successful Agile process that has been adopted by some of our teams and has enabled them to increase their velocity, productivity and enjoyment of their work. Cory concluded his review with these words: “I appreciate that Axian invests in my professional development. This course and certification was a win-win for us both. Having been equipped with the right training and tools, I am now a respected leader of process evolution, ultimately helping to ensure development teams deliver maximum value.”
